4th of July

So we have been pretty busy lately. Mommy had a big project at work that was very time consuming, but is mostly over now and should be VERY rewarding. We made up for some of that time this weekend. We had a lot of fun together, just the three of us! Daddy and Haleigh Rose were fighting colds so we just hung low together. We went to the fireworks on Saturday night in a nearby community. We didn't think it would be wise to go downtown for the big display for Haleigh's first in-person fireworks display. We were probably right. The first 10 minutes were a little questionable. Before the official show started there were some individuals at nearby homes putting some off and she thought they were really cool and her eyes lit up, but as soon as the "real" ones started, it was a little overwhelming...a little too loud and a little too close. She wanted Daddy and she was hiding her face, but after about 10 minutes she was willing to have a little fun with it and started calling out the different colors and in the end she said she loved them! It was fun! She was really great!

Then today we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. She loves the zoo and it was fun to see how she enjoyed it now. She did really well and had so much fun!! So did Mommy and Daddy! It is so fun to get to go and do things like that together as a family. We all loved it!!!

Haleigh Rose is growing like a weed!! She is potty trained!!! She is doing really well with it, even on public outings like today at the zoo! Very happy to not be changing diapers all the time, although I am having to cope with my public bathroom phobia as she likes to see them all!! Her imagination is going well and she is really getting into some imaginative play, although most of it seems to be based on some reality that she has seen from her father or I. That is a little scary! it is funny (and sometimes embarrassing) to see your words come back at you from your daughter's mouth as she plays with her babies or has pretend phone conversations!! Good reminder to watch what we say and to say in nicely!! The other day from the back of the car I heard, "Honey, stop it." HAHA!! She said it in a very sweet tone though! Phew!!
Hope everyone is enjoying summer. Our weather has been all over the place! God Bless!
